Outdoor Play & Learning

Welcome to our parent-and-child outdoor classroom!
My name is Jane, I am a certified Tinkergarten teacher with 4 years of experience teaching ESL taking time off to spend it with my two amazing children. Their joy for nature has inspired me to offer classes to facilitate outdoor play-based learning for children and their grownups.

I utilize Tinkergarten curriculum to guide families through songs, movement, exploration and purposeful play. During the class children are encouraged to get messy and dirty,  come up with their own ideas and explore the nature.

Each season, we help children to develop one of our 8 core skills they'll need to become curious, capable learners who can contribute to their world.

Designed for ages 1.5-8yrs old.

Fall Season Sept 21st-Nov 16th 2024

Duration: 9 weekly sessions on Saturdays 10.30-11.30am

Location: 4111 330th PL SE Fall City, WA 98024

Tuition for 9 classes (prorated after season begins):

Description:

This fall, our lessons help kids develop focus. The curriculum is designed to help kids hone the symphony of skills we use to direct, shift and sustain our attention, all through playful exploration of nature.

Throughout the series, we’ll leverage the inherently captivating natural world to teach kids building blocks of focus, including: how to feel grounded in the moment; how to zoom in and zoom out; how to wonder; and how to follow our interests.

The core lessons follow a steady progression and are organized into three units:

1.     In the “Our Treasures” unit (lessons 1-3), we zoom in on the natural treasures within our outdoor spaces.

2. In the “Our Spaces” unit (lessons 4-6), we zoom out to notice what is happening and changing in our biomes—up, down and all around us.

3. In our final “Our Focus Tools” unit (lessons 7-9), we zoom inwards on the “tools” and strategies we can use to support ourselves as we focus.

✨ Join us for a Fall Lantern Walk at dusk! ✨

The annual Fall Lantern Walk is a magical tradition, designed to help kids and grown ups welcome the darkness of winter and embrace this natural change with joy. This is my favorite event, and I hope you can join in!
We will gather for a short and sweet circle time, sing a couple of songs, read a book and finally, light up our lanterns to walk around the neighborhood.

Every family is encouraged to bring their own lantern(s). I will have a few cup lights available for those who needs them.

Our Lantern Walk will be on Friday, Nov 22nd 4:30-5:30pm

It’s free and open to all! Click the link below to register for the walk! And bring friends and neighbors—the more the merrier
